Location: Bozeman, MT

Bozeman businessman and tech entrepreneur Greg Gianforte and his running mate, Phillips County rancher Lesley Robinson, reached a fundraising milestone in the race for Governor & Lt. Governor of Montana. This, according to a campaign finance report being filed Monday with the state that shows Gianforte has now raised more than $1 million.

The latest reports shows Gianforte raising more than $146,000 between March 28th and April 26th. Gianforte says he continues to be humbled by the outpouring of support- nearly 2,700 financial supporters across all 56 counties.

GREG GIANFORTE: "Part of what's wrong with government today- from Washington DC to Helena- is that career government insiders are bought and paid for by the special interests funding their campaigns. Well, I'm not a professional politician, I'm a job creator, and my campaign won't take a dime from special interests. We're seeing strong support from all across the state, because Montanans know that Lesley Robinson and I will make sure state government is accountable to Montana voters- and not to special interests."

Gianforte is the founder of RightNow Technologies. He started the company out of his home in Bozeman, and created over 500 high wage Montana jobs. The average Montana salary at RightNow was nearly $90,000 a year. He's donated over half of his income to charity. As Gianforte announced his run for governor of Montana- he also pledged to donate his entire salary to a special Governor's Scholarship Fund to assist veterans and lower income Montanans.

Amy Lunde, the Gianforte campaign manager, is making it clear that Greg also intends to invest in his campaign.

AMY LUNDE: "This is clearly a team effort. Montanans are graciously supporting this campaign with their hard-earned resources, and Greg is willing to invest his time, talents, and resources to this campaign as well. This is just one more way to help create more high wage jobs and provide better outcomes for all Montanans."

Gianforte has rejected special-interest PAC money, and called on his opponent to do the same. To date, Governor Steve Bullock has refused to sign the Campaign Integrity Pledge, and is using both PAC dollars and tax dollars to fund his campaign.
